What can be Freeze Dried? What cant be Freeze Dried?

Some foods cannot be freeze-dried as freeze drying works by extracting water from food. Some foods may not have the right balance of fat, moisture, or sugar. This includes:

High fat foods: Butter, oils, nuts, and nut butters can go rancid during the freeze drying process.

Chocolate: Pure chocolate can't be freeze-dried because of its low moisture and high oil content. However, chocolate-covered candies can be freeze-dried.

Meat with bones: Fatty meats and meat with bones are not suitable for freeze drying.

Other foods that are not suitable for freeze drying
include: Honey and syrups, Mayonnaise, Jams and jellies, and Coffee Beans.
